Your 9 day safari will have you staying in a variety of accommodation from eco tented cabins to luxury ocean villas, travelling in your own EC 145 twin engine helicopter. The EC 145 has all forward facing seats with generous windows complete with air-conditioning. All our safaris can be individually tailored to provide a unique and dynamic experience.

Day 1 Bullo River Station

We will begin our exciting adventure in Darwin. Once airborne we will head South West. Be amazed how quickly the populated area surrounding Darwin falls away and the land below becomes wild and remote. Our flight time to Bullo River Station is approx. 2hours.

Bullo River Station is 500,000 acres of privately owned countryside, here you will be greeted by the friendly Station staff and shown to your accommodation where you can settle in before sunset drinks and dinner. Your accommodation tonight will be set amongst the boab trees in one of 12 rooms with en-suite and air-conditioning. Dinners are informal and the menu relies heavily on the two exceptional products of the property, namely fresh barramundi and organic prime beef from the surrounding pastures.

 

Day 2 Bullo River Station and El

Start your day with breakfast usually served outside on the homestead veranda and then get ready for an action packed day of working station life, remote swimming holes and some gorge cruising. Waving goodbye to the Station crew around mid afternoon we will head for the World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park  (Bungle Bungle). Our flight time today will be approx. 1hr 45mins. The flight path will take us across the spectacular lake Argyle and along the upper reaches of the Ord River where you will notice the landscape beginning to change into the rugged ranges of the Kimberley. From the vantage point of your helicopter the Bungle Bungle Range is an imposing sight. The orange and black stripes across the beehive-like mounds, encased in a skin of silica and algae, are clearly visible as we approach from the north. As we sweep further over the range a hidden world of gorges and pools are revealed, with fan palms clinging precariously to walls and crevices in the rocks.

Day 3 Bungle Bungles

If getting up early is your thing, the Bungle Bungle is a perfect place to watch the sun wake up the Kimberley for another day. After breakfast its time to join a ground tour for an unforgettable experience exploring the Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle). Let the experienced guides share their knowledge of this amazing place. Returning to camp in the late afternoon, enjoy a hot shower to wash the dust off from the day and enjoy a cold beverage before dinner.

Day 4

Today’s flight will take us across some true wild, remote Kimberley country and will give you an

appreciation of how special  this part of Australia is. We will spend the day exploring this wilderness from air and land. Towards late afternoon we will arrive at our next spectacular Location The Kimberley Wilderness Camp. Nestled on the pristine shores of the Admiralty Gulf lies this wilderness retreat, which is, reserved for a privileged few.

 

Today will be all about exploring this unique location which consists of a wide diversity of habitats.

Enjoy a wide variety of activities, beach exploring, picnics, scenic boat rides, art and fishing. You will be sure to sleep well under the stars tonight.

Day 5 Kimberley Coastal Camp

Today will be all about exploring this unique location which consists of a wide diversity of habitats.

Day 6 Waterfalls & The Berkeley River Lodge

Departing the Kimberley Coastal camp around mid morning we will head off once again in to the remote far reaches of the Kimberley. Taking full advantage of the fact that you are amongst ta privileged few to experience this part of the country by helicopter which allows us the freedom to visit and experience some breath taking waterfalls from both air and Land.

Our day will finish with a trip down the coast to the Berkeley River Lodge where we will fly overhead the to capture photos of this great destination, just to put it all in perspective.

This will be your home for the next 3 nights.

Day 7 Berkeley River Cruise

Today will be about exploring that mighty river system that you saw on your way in yesterday, ‘The Berkeley River’. A full-day Berkeley River cruise led by the resident skipper, takes in the natural treasures of this tranquil river system.

Choose from gorge hikes to Casuarina Falls, a cooling dip in the secluded waterholes of Berkeley Creek and the chance to spot native flora and fauna, from salt-water crocodiles to rock wallabies and birds of prey. Returning to the Lodge around sunset its time for that wonderful culinary experience in the Dunes Restaurant where the chef will again impress you with his artistic food presentation and outstanding flavours.

Day 8 Fishing, 4WD, Exploring

Following a wholesome breakfast, you will have a choice of a variety of activities. A must for photography enthusiasts, is a 4WD tour which takes in sweeping ocean views, curious rock formations and native wildlife in the early morning and late afternoon, when the colours and contrasts are at their most spectacular.

Nature enthusiasts and keen photographers will be captivated by the astonishing diversity of flora, fauna and geological features surrounding The Berkeley River Lodge. Join a guided hike which is led by a resident nature enthusiast, providing an introduction to the trees, plants and wildlife that inhabit the dunes, grasslands, mangroves and creeks. Our three most popular hikes have been graded on recommended fitness levels and you also have the option of grabbing an ‘Essentials Backpack’ to explore the area on your own.

Take the opportunity to explore the sand dunes, cool off or work out in the 20-metre lap pool, lounge with a book or magazine from the lodge library. For lunch feast on a picnic lunch or a late afternoon antipasto platter, prepared by our renowned chef, beside secluded palm-fringed waterholes, the majestic Mount Casuarina or under our unique ‘Candelabra’ tree.

Returning to the Lodge after yet another day of absolutes adventure why not relax in your free standing tub or chill out with on your deck and watch the sun go down before yet another fantastic dining experience.

If you haven’t had enough flying utilise the Lodges helicopter for a spot of heli fishing. Fly to the Kimberley’s remotest fishing spots, you’ll enter prime barra territory where only the privileged few have ever cast a line. Picture the scene as day breaks on the water and lights upa stunning wilderness backdrop. It’s just you, your guide, your bait and the barras, and you’re filled with adrenaline as you try to snap that lure on for the first cast.

Day 9 Art Adventure, Fishing and King George Falls & Darwin

Today is your last day in this amazing location but it will be no less awesome than the rest of your trip. Spend the morning with an adventure that you could not fit into your day yesterday.

We will regroup for a farewell lunch and say goodbye to some new friends before boarding your privately charted aeroplane back to Darwin. Your flight time will be approx. 1 hour 45 mins.
